The backstrip has shelf-wear with cloth missing and pulling upward on the lower edge. The gilt on the backstrip is slightly darkened. The cover corners are bumped with under-board exposed. The back cover is embossed. The endpapers are brown. The title page is half-loose and pulling away. The interior pages are stiff and intact with moderate tanning throughout. The hinge is cracked at the “Preface” and the cover is pulling away from the inner spine. 514 pages.
