There is a heavier, lighter clay on one side possibly used as a repair at one time. The piece is medium and dark brown with areas of black. The dark brown feels like a glaze and is smoother. There are a few little chips along the upper rim. The inside is clean. Provenance: China. Date of origination is unknown.
