Published by The Macmillan Company, NY. Copyright 1823. Cover is gray with green undertones. Book leans forward slightly. Large soil spot center on the backstrip. Backstrip cloth is pulled away / splitting. Back cover is fragile and pulling away and has red stain spots (pictured). Interior pages are white, soft and intact with mild tanning throughout. Page 338 has a large 4" tear on the lower left corner. Page 339 has a 2.5" horizontal tear. 357 pages, 8 x 5 1/2"

Frontispiece illustration is loose. Heavy foxing on the title page. Interior pages are soft, white and intact with several full page black and white illustrations. 368 pages, 7 3/4 x 5 1/2"
