Covers are a fine dark leather with bright gilt decoration on all sides. Cover corners are lightly bumped on each volume. The outer edge of the cover is lightly bumped in some areas. The decoration on the backstrip is bright. Collection size: 8 1/2 T x 5 3/8 D x 7 5/8" W. Additional details below.

Vie de Frayssinous' copyright is 1844. It has a small pencil tip size puncture hole on the lower cover. The upper edge of the cover is rubbed at the backstrip connection. The back cover is good. There is heavy foxing on the pre-title page and moderate foxing on the title page. This volume has the same look and red endpapers as the other volumes. The interior pages are white, soft and edged in gilt. There is mild to moderate areas of foxing throughout. 868 pages

Volume 1's copyright is 1825. It has light foxing on interior pages occasionally. The interior pages are crisp, white and intact, edged in gilt. An original pink ribbon placeholder is enclosed. 551 pages

Volume 2's copyright is 1825. It has a rubbed area on the leather at the upper cover / backstrip connection. The interior pages have varying areas of light to heavy foxing throughout. Includes an original place holder ribbon. 501 pages

Volume 3's copyright is 1825. The lower right cover corner is more heavily bumped with underboard exposed. The interior pages have occasional areas of light foxing throughout. The title page has moderate foxing. The original place holder ribbon is enclosed. 655 pages

Volume 4, copyright 1843. The cover has light white areas on the cover. There is a rubbed spot at the upper cover/backstrip connection. The lower backstrip has heavier rubbed areas. The title block has a small scratch and light rubbed areas. There is heavy foxing on the pre-title pages and title page. Most interior pages are white and clean, there are sections of pages with heavy foxing. An original red ribbon placeholder is enclosed. 611 pages
