A large book with excerpts from authors such as A. A. Milne, David Cecil, Thomas Hardy, Adelaide Phillpotts, John Lea, Henry Newbolt, and others. The cover is beige with soiling / darkening along the edges. There is a vertical red streak over the cover title. The cover corner is bumped. The cover is very shaken / fragile due to a cracked hinge. The endpapers are tan with a penned message on the right endpaper. There are many pieces of horizontal tape across the endpaper gutter. There is vertical tape in the gutter of a pre-title page. The hinge is cracked with under-spine exposed prior to the title page. The frontispiece page with illustration is loose due to the cracked hinge. The title page has an art nouveau style illustration. The interior pages after the title page are soft, stiff, thick and intact with mild tanning throughout. 200 pages.
