The plate was likely produced by Griffen, Smith and Hill Company without markings. The basket weave glaze is a light brown. The pink flowers have imperfect pale yellow centers. There is a white and yellow dotted pattern in the center behind the stems. There is a small firing pit mark or chip near the lower center of the plate on a leaf. Up close the leaves and flowers have a fine firing crackle finish. The back has a brown and white glaze pattern.
Griffen, Smith and Hill Company from Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, founded in 1879, produced high quality Etruscan Majolica into the 1890's.
