Thomas Forester mastered the craft of Majolica after working in Belgium and returned to England to begin producing in the 1870's. He began work with his sons on majolica production in 1883 in the Shaffordshire area. Date of origination of this piece is unknown it could be from the late 1800's, but the base stamp may be from the early 1900's.
