The book leans forward slightly. The cover is dark forest green with bright white flowers and gilt decoration. There are small discoloration spots on the cover. There some fraying on the upper backstrip. There is discoloration and shelf-wear on the lower backstrip. The back cover is green with discoloration spots. The hinge is cracked with webbing exposed. The original white endpaper is missing. The book opens to a pre-title page. The frontispiece illustration is on slick paper with tissue opposite. The title page is moderately tan. The book feels somewhat fragile due to the cracked hinge. The interior pages are stiff and intact with moderate tanning throughout. There are several full page black and white illustrations throughout. There is a soil spot on the lower margin of page 348. 378 pages, 7 3/4 x 5 3/8”
