The cover is very heavily soiled in vertical streaks. There are tears and fraying in the backstrip cloth on the upper and lower edges. The backstrip cloth in darkened and the gilt is darkened with patina. There is some soiling and spots on the back cover. There are some brown spots on the decorated endpapers. There is a penciled signature on a blank pre-title page. There is some soiling in the lower gutter on page 7. The pages are mostly soft and white with mild tanning throughout. There is a small brown soil spot on page 65, 69, and 233-241.
