An ornate Japanese Satsuma vase, likely from the Meiji period (1868-1912). The vase depicts males, possibly Disciples and a dragon. The dragon is raised on the vase and the white dragon head is protruding above a gold crest. The vase is ornately adorned with gilt decoration, black, green and white. There is blue water in the background. There is red on the dragon pictured. There is a second textured dragon near the bases on one side. The base has characters and is very smooth. There is a crack in the rim (pictured). The crack is not loose or unstable. Size: 6.25 x 3.75".
