The Poetical Works of Thomas Hood. Published by Ward, Lock and Co, London around 1885 (no date). The cover is a dark maroon with somewhat bright gilt decoration. The cover decoration is ornate and slightly darkened. The backstrip condition is poor. The gilt and any decoration is mostly gone with the pressed embossment present. There is heavy wear and chipping of the cloth on the upper backstrip. There is lighter wear and fraying of the cloth on the lower backstrip. Size: 7.25”, 400 pages. There is a foxing spot on the lower left corner of the title page. The pages are stiff with moderate tanning throughout. The chapter headers and endings are illustrated. There is a vertical crease on page 83.
