The gilt title block on the backstrip is darkened. There is shelfwear and bending of the cloth on the upper and lower backstrip. The black embossed decoration on the backstrip is faded and rubbed. The back cover is good. The endpapers are decorated with a brown floral motif. There is a penned message on the right endpaper dated 1891. There is webbing exposed at the endpapers.
