There is medium blue tones along the lower edge. The paint does not cover all the outer edge of the canvas completely. The wrapped canvas looks a little shabby or frayed along the nailed edges in some areas.
Provenance: France. Artist: Francois Xavier Krugler (1864-1941). Initially the owner of a painting company, he ceased this activity to dedicate himself exclusively to painting in 1914. He was based on Brunstatt. He had a reputation as a portrait painter but also painted flowers and landscapes. He only used oil paints.
