The covers are matte blue paper on stiff backing. The covers are very good for their age. There are antique paper labels on the backstrip with script. There is a light soil stain down the center of Volume 2. There is a single small black spot near the bottom of the back cover of Volume 2. There is mild to moderate tanning on the title page. The interior pages are crisp and white throughout with lightly textured pages. There is an occasional small foxing spot. In Volume 2 there is a one-inch small brown stain on page 41.
