The cover corners are bumped with under-board exposed. There is heavy soiling on the cover in the center and along the lower left side. The backstrip is soiled and there is fading and darkening on the gilt and color. There is additional green and purple color on the backstrip. The back cover matches the front cover. There is a discoloration horizontal streak in the center of the back cover. There is a private collection sticker on the left endpaper. There is a detailed frontispiece illustration opposite the first title page which is decorated. There is a small soil spot in the margin of page 27. The pages are mostly white with moderate foxing throughout. There is at least one additional black and white illustration.
