There are a few blemishes in the cover cloth along the backstrip connection and the right cover edge. The gilt on the backstrip is darkened. The under-board is exposed on the upper backstrip. The back cover is good with a light scratch on the right side. There is a lightly pressed emblem on the back. The endpapers are decorated with a tan and white leaf motif. There is a private library sticker on the left endpaper. There is an illustration and tissue on the frontispiece. The interior pages are crisp and white throughout with very mild tanning. The lower right corners of pages 263-272 of Hard Times are bent together.
