Contents include: Spanish Ballads, American Ballads, and Miscellaneous Ballads. The pages were printed with large print (font size). The endpapers are decorated with a green leaf motif. There is a chip on the lower right endpaper. The hinge is cracked at the title page and the cover is starting to pull away at the lower gutter. The tissue is enclosed. There is a red decorative border throughout. The outer edge of the pages are gilded. There is at least one black and white illustration in addition to the frontispiece. The interior pages are crisp with mild tanning throughout. There is a large moisture soil spot in the margin on page 183. There is occasional areas of light foxing.
