The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens. Published by Syndicate Trading Company, NY around 1890 (n.d.). Cover is dark plum purple with light discoloration spots. Embossed decoration on the cover is somewhat faded. Backstrip has decorative embossed leaf decoration with a gilt title block. Back cover is good. Book opens to title page. Title page is heavily tanned with a chip in the lower right corner. there is erased pencil markings on the eps. Book has around 3 upper right creases. Black soil marks on pages 690-691. Pencil markings on rear eps. 823 pages, 7 1/2 x 4 3/4"

Cover has decorative illustration with purple, blue, green and black. Cover corners have under-board exposed. Book leans forward slightly. Gilt on the backstrip is bright. Back cover matches the front cover. Soil spots on lower left corner of right eps. Beautiful black and white illustration on frontispiece with heavy foxing. Interior pages are soft, white and intact. 172 pages, 5 5/8 x 3 3/8"

Paper cover is a shade of gray with purple undertones. Light soiling on cover. Backstrip has stickers on the lower end. Back cover is good with a light green spot (center). Moderate dark foxing on the title page. Heavy foxing on pre-title page. Interior pages are soft and mostly with with moderate foxing throughout. 558 pages, 8 5/8 x 5 1/2"
