The cover is dark green. There is a pressed emblem (center) on the cover that is faded. There is a white streak on the cover. The cover corners bend downward and under-board is exposed. There is gilt on the backstrip. The cloth on the upper backstrip is worn / missing. There is shelf-wear and discoloration on the lower backstrip. The back cover is good. The center emblem on the back cover is fading. The endpapers are bright yellow with some light pencil notations. The illustration of Dante on the frontispiece is heavily tanned. The enclosed tissue is heavily darkened. There is heavily tanning / foxing on the title page. There is a penned signature on the top edge of page 1, Life of Dante. The interior pages are soft and intact with mild tanning throughout. There are varying areas of no foxing to heavy foxing throughout the book. There is very heavy foxing on the last black pages. The rear endpapers are good. Size: 6.75x4.5", 587 pages.
