The endpapers are dark brown and clean. There is a penned message and soil spots on the pre-title page dated 1898. The first title page is decorated with a detailed illustration and a few large foxing spots. The chapter headers have detailed black and white illustrations. The book includes several full page black and white illustration. The interior pages are crisp and intact with moderate tanning throughout. The outer edge of interior pages are gilded.
