The Poems and Ballads of Schiller, Translated by Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton. From the Last London Edition. T.Y. Crowell & Co, New York around 1885 (no date). The cover is brown with red undertones and a bright gilt title. The cover corners are bumped with the under-board exposed. There is shelf-wear and discoloration on the upper and lower backstrip. The back cover is red and good. The endpapers are tanned with a private library sticker on the left and large penned notations on the right. The title page is mildly tanned with a red decorative border. The outer edge of the interior pages are gilded. The interior pages are crisp and intact with moderate tanning throughout and decorative red borders. 407 pages, 7 1/4 x 5 1/4"

There is a white spot (center) on the cover. The back cover is brown with two small discoloration spots. The endpapers are decorated with a brown stick style motif. The title page is moderately tanned. The interior pages are soft and intact with moderate tanning throughout. The rear endpapers are decorated. 423 pages, 7 1/2 x 5 1/8"

The cover is brown cloth with red undertones and black decoration. The gilt title block on the backstrip is bright. The back cover is brown and good. The endpapers are medium brown with a penned signature. Tissue is present. There is a detailed illustration of Henry Clay on the frontispiece. There are fingerprints on the "Introduction" page.
