Poems of Goethe by Edgar Alfred Bowring. Beautiful Belford Clarke & Company edition, NY. Published around 1885 (n.d.). Cover is very good with gilt decorated flowers. Spine has damage with 3/4" tear and small section missing. Gilt on spine soiled. Decorated eps in red floral motif. Blue stamp of former owner name present on eps. Illustration of author opposite the title page. Tissue present. Decorated interior pages with red border. Gilt on interior pages edged is soiling. Book leans forward slightly. Book opens to Translator's Original Dedication and Preface. Ex-library papers on back eps. Title page is good with fingerprint. 412pgs, 7 5/8 x 5 1/4"
American Notes by Rudyard Kipling. Published by Henry Altemus around 1895 (n.d.). Beautiful copy with red, white and blue cover art and gilt present. Wear and rubbing to cover corners. Darkening to white cloth on spine. Spine cloth is separating and pulling away at back cover. Back cover is decorated. Eps are clean, white and decorated with green art nouveau style illustration. Interior pages are clean, white and well intact. Corner of page torn (pg. 159). Occasional bent page corner. 184pgs, 6 1/2 x 4 3/8"
Prue and I by George William Curtis. Published in decorated pink cloth by Homewood Publishing Company, Chicago around 1895 (n.d.). Moderate soiling and foxing to cover cloth. Soil spot near title on cover. Back cover is dark pink and good. Signature of former owner beige eps. Title page is beige and very good. Interior pages are stiff and beige, well intact. Cover corners bend downward. 183pgs, 7 1/4 x 5"
