The covers are matte gray with antique paper labels on the backstrip. The back covers are intact. The covers are pictured. There is antique script vertically on two covers. The backstrip paper is shabby with some paper missing with under-binding exposed. The binding is intact on all books. The paper label is cracked, partially missing or curling on some bindings. The covers are attached on each book. The interior pages are lightly textured.
Volume 2: There is a horizontal cut on the title page near the center (~1 inch). The interior pages are mostly white and intact with light foxing throughout. 525 pages. Volume 3: The lower corner of the first set of pages curls upward. The binding is fragile toward the middle around page 193, held by strings. There is a dark brown spot along the edge of a few pages near page 295. The interior pages are mostly white with moderate tanning throughout and occasional dark brown foxing spot. 490 pages. Volume 4: The book is well bound and the pages are mostly white throughout. There is occasional light foxing. 502 pages. Volume 5: There is a puncture hole on page 1. There is a small black streak on page 265. The interior pages are moderately to heavily tanned throughout with an occasional brown foxing spot. 527 pages.
