The cover is bright blue and red with art nouveau style cover art. The cover corners are lightly bumped and bend downward slightly. The book slants forward slightly. The gilt title block on the backstrip is faded / rubbed. The back cover is darker blue with a few small soil spots. The endpapers are heavily tanned / brown. There is heavy foxing on pre-title page. There is moderate foxing and soil spots on the title page. The frontispiece is a color plate illustration of a ship. The interior pages are stiff, white and intact with occasional foxing throughout.
