The cover is thick hardboard with medium golden brown leather. The upper right cover corner is bumped with under-board exposed. A large section of pages curl upward pushing the cover forward. There is a 2-inch crack in the leather and the lower cover and backstrip connection. The leather is worn / rubbed on the lower backstrip. There is chipping and a half-inch tear in the upper backstrip leather. The back cover is good. The gilt on the backstrip is bright. The hinge at the endpapers is partially cracked making the cover feel fragile. the endpapers are decorated with a webbed marble motif in gray, pink and yellow. The curling of the first set of pages is visible on the title page through page vlvj. The interior pages are crisp and intact with areas of mild to heavy tanning throughout. There are areas of foxing throughout from light to heavy. 884 pages.
