Poems by Charles Kingsley. Published by Thomas & Crowell & Co, NY around 1890 (n.d.). Blue cloth cover has Victorian style decorated embossed cover with bright gilt title. Cover corners bend downward. Cover illustration is slighly darker than pictured. Bright gilt decoration on the spine. Shelf-wear and discoloration on the upper and lower spine. Back cover is dark blue and good with very light discoloration spots. Eps are mildly tanned with light foxing / soiling and a penned signature dated 1906. Title page is loose with chipping along the edges. Red border decoration on the title page is extended throughout the book. "Contents" pages have tape up the center. Book begins with "Andromeda". Tape on page 103, 161. Two-inch tear on upper edge of page 130. Tear on corner of page 145, 161, 181. 329 pages, 7 3/8 x 5 1/8"
Selections from The Poetical Works of Robert Browning, Vignette Edition with "one hundred illustrations". Published by Frederick A Stokes Company, NY. Copyright 1892. Brown cover with pink floral decoration and brown cover corners. Gilt on the cover is bright with light red spots near the title. Cover edges are bumped. Spine has bright gilt with a black pen mark near the title and pulled cloth / rubbing on the upper and lower spine. Back cover is decorated like the front and very good. Eps are white with penned signature. Cover hinge feels fragile. Hinge cracked at title page. Illustration of a female on frontispiece. Interior pages are clean, white and well intact with many black and white illustrations throughout. Rear eps are clean and white. 474 pages, 7 1/2 x 5 3/8"
Rollo in Geneva by Jacob Abbott. Published by W.B. Conkey Company, Chicago. Beige cloth cover with blue art nouveau style decoration. Large moisture discoloration spot along the right edge of cover. Spine decoration is fading. Back cover is beige with light soiling. Eps are mildly tanned. Interior pages are stiff, white and well intact with mild tanning throughout. Rear eps are clean. 175 pages, 6 1/8 x 4 3/8"
